Considered by many as one of the country’s fastest growing and most highly regarded independent wealth management and investment counseling organizations, Integrated Wealth Management, was founded by Jim Casey, a SUNY graduate with dual majors in psychology and business.
The firm focuses on helping its client base of hundreds of businesses, foundations and individuals attain their current and future financial goals by providing an exceptional level of personalized service and financial advice, and adapting quickly to changing client circumstances, market conditions or tax laws. A strong commitment to integrity, transparency and giving back to the community are cornerstones of the Integrated Wealth Management philosophy.
Integrated Wealth Management has grown steadily, with a major increase in assets under management every year since 1996. The firm consistently appears on the Medical Economics magazine annual list of The 150 Best Financial Advisers for Doctors, most recently for 2011. Integrated Wealth Management Financial Advisors have received the Five Star Wealth Manager Award from Five Star Professional and Palm Springs Life Magazine for multiple years. Financial Advisor Magazine included the firm in its Top Registered Investment Advisors 2010 ranking.
In 2010, Wealth Manager magazine (formerly known as Bloomberg Wealth Manager) voted Integrated Wealth Management one of America’s Top Investment Advisory Firms for the sixth consecutive year. Integrated Wealth Management was recognized as one of Reuters’ Top Advisors of 2008 and was also included on the Best of United States 2008 list of the best Financial Planners in the country. And, in 2006, the firm was named in Financial Advisor Magazine as one of America’s Top Registered Investment Advisory firms.
The firm had its beginnings as the western region of AMA Investment Advisors, a wholly-owned subsidiary of the American Medical Association which Jim Casey, then Regional Vice President, purchased in 1995. From this foundation, Physician’s Asset Management was established to handle the financial needs of high net worth medical professionals and medical groups throughout the Western United States.
In 2001, Physician’s Asset Management was hired by The Screen Actors Guild Foundation to manage that organization’s financial growth. As a result, Casey established a new division, Integrated Wealth Management, to meet the needs of The Screen Actors Guild Foundation and other entertainment professionals and foundations, including The Motion Picture Players Welfare Club, American Federation of Television & Radio Artists (AFTRA), and The Actors Fund as well as those of other non-medical high net worth clients and business owners.
In 2006, Integrated Wealth Management opened a branch office in downtown Palm Springs, a natural next step in the firm’s growth, given its involvement with the Palm Springs International Film Festival and the presence of many Los Angeles and Orange County based clients who had retired to the Coachella Valley.
In 2007, to acknowledge the growing diversity of the firm’s client base, the Physician’s Asset Management name was officially changed to Integrated Wealth Management.
Soon, the firm’s Coachella Valley business was booming and in 2009, several additional highly qualified financial
advisors and their support teams joined Integrated Wealth Management from UBS and Merrill Lynch, bringing with them many years of financial expertise and unique perspectives. In August 2009, Integrated Wealth Management established a new branch office in Palm Desert at the heart of El Paseo to serve the needs of and provide personalized attention to the many individual clients in that area. That same month, Integrated Wealth Management greatly expanded its presence in Palm Springs with the debut of a sleek, new 3,800 square foot office on North Palm Canyon Drive. To further service its clients, Integrated Wealth Management expanded its Palm Desert office in December 2011.
Integrated Wealth Management’s strong support of nonprofit organizations, especially those serving the Los Angeles, Palm Springs and Palm Desert communities in which the firm’s offices are based, reflects firm founder Jim Casey’s passion for sharing the fruits of its success. Integrated Wealth Management regularly donates time, money and in-kind services to an array of worthy nonprofits and is an active participant in their fundraising initiatives.
